On October 5th,
2019, David Edward Burke published a commentary in Monthly Washington, a media
organization that focuses on explaining how the government can be improved. In
the commentary “Can Impeachment Succeed?”, David explains how Trump has
violated the Constitution and should be impeached.
David provides some examples of how Trump has
violated the Constitution. He states that Trump asked a “foreign official to investigate
a political opponent”, which he is not able to because it is “previously
identified as grounds for impeachment.” David also argues that many of the
people that voted for him are going against him but David should have included
how many people actually are against him. David stated that even if he gets
impeached, he can become the first president to run for re-election after being
impeached and that even then there’s “no evidence that it will deter his supporters.”
I believe that the real question we should be asking is how many people will
still support him in the 2020 election. He will most likely not get impeached
just as David stated but if more people stop supporting him, then he will most
likely not be re-elected in the 2020 election
This article is
intended for all the citizens to inform them how Trump has violated the Constitution
and if impeaching him is going to succeed. David does support his argument by including
how Trump's campaign clearly states who he is as a person which is not good
things.
In conclusion, there are so many reasons why Trump should be impeached but it will most likely not
happen until something worse happens or until people stop supporting him. If
every citizen does their research before voting then this country would be more
in peace like it should be. We as citizens need to come together and make this
country better again.
